Hmmm, how much longer will it take to topple the mad ringmaster?
A couple of months back I promised myself that I would not allow the orange-faced shit disturber to occupy any more space in my head. No more posts about Trump. But in light of recent events, I feel compelled to break my vow and speak out again.
I have described Trump as a narcissistic megalomaniac. I feel the need to be more specific now. Trump is a narcissistic, exploitative, loose cannon. A power hungry ,would-be king, mentally unstable megalomaniac. There are other defamatory terms I could use but you can fill in those blanks.
Trump’s Make American Great Again platform has devolved into a dystopian vision in which the United States rules the world and all world leaders bow to him. His mad prophet view of his sphere of influence has created a fantasy world in which he can snap his fingers and end longstanding wars or conflicts in a matter of days. The leaders of the countries engaged in those conflicts play him like a fiddle and thumb their nose at his threats.
Trump’s invasion of Venezuela and capture of its president was his first major foray in his would-be king plans. Notwithstanding the rhetoric, the invasion was never about rescuing its’ citizens from a dictator. It was all about taking control of the country’s oil reserves.
It was quite amusing to see Trump miffed at the United State’s large oil companies when he invited them to move into Venezuela and take over its oil industry. The executive’s response to his invitation: Yeah, thanks but no thanks, not going to happen.
Next on Trump’s hit list is Greenland via purchase or military force. His is on record as stating that the U.S. needs Greenland for national security purposes and anything less than full control of the country is unacceptable. What about Greenland’s largely untapped mineral, oil and gas deposits? Well, that is just a fortunate side benefit.
Trump has had the unmitigated gall to say that NATO should help the U.S. take control of Greenland for the benefit of all NATO countries. NATO’s response: Yeah, thanks but no thanks, not going to happen.
Trump is dangling the idea of taking over other countries such as Cuba and Mexico and, of course, making Canada the 51st state. The response of the leaders of these countries is: Not on my watch. Trump’s unofficial response: Try and stop me. I dare you.
Meanwhile, Trump’s reign of terror within the U.S. continues. His ICE thugs move into cities like an invading army with carte blanche to do as they see fit. The indefensible shooting of 37 year old Renee Good shocked the nation and the world.
The response from Trump and his appointed deputies to the Renee Good shooting makes it clear that his mindset is: The truth is whatever I say it is regardless of how brazen the lie. Anyone who says otherwise will be prosecuted or persecuted.
If you need a definitive example of Trump’s dream world and his complete late of shame, look no further than the Nobel Peace Prize. He claims he should have won it which is the height of hubris. Accepting the “gift” of the prize from the real winner, Venuzuelan Opposition Leader Maria Corina Machado, is just shameful and embarrassing to all involved.
The U.S. is at a pivotal point in its history. It is a country in crisis. The issue is no longer political policies – Republican or Democrat – or values and ideologies – Liberal or Conservative. It is about one mentally unstable man’s quest to be king and his out of control spiral.
The U.S. has become a three ring circus with a mad ringmaster. Toppling the ringmaster is the only way out of the madness. The midterm elections this year are a pivot point. If the Democrats prevail, they will start to build the case for this extraordinary act. In the meantime, if enough Republican Senators come to their senses (a handful have to date), the madness could end earlier.
Of course, the Venezuelan drug cartels may already be asking: Who’s our best hitman? Hopefully it does not come to that extreme conclusion.
